Coastal Cup (soccer)

The Coastal Cup refers to an association football competition and trophy. The trophy is awarded to the best soccer team in regular season play among the three Florida-based North American Soccer League sides.
==History==
The Coastal Cup was first contested in 2010 as part of the fifth incarnation of the Florida Derby, between FC Tampa Bay and the original Miami FC, while both were members of the D2 Pro League. Within two years time both teams would re-brand using the names of the historic NASL clubs from the two regions of Florida and were themselves part of the new NASL.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=NASL: FC Tampa Bay downs Ft. Tampa Bay won the first four Coastal Cups,〔〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=NASL: Tampa Bay Rowdies 2 Fort Lauderdale Strikers 1 )〕 with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers finally breaking through in 2014.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Rowdies NASL: Rowdies Fall 3-2 Against Fort Lauderdale Strikers )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Historic night in Tampa as Fort Lauderdale Strikers come from behind to take Coastal Cup )〕 The addition of the Jacksonville Armada to the NASL for the 2015 season made the Coastal Cup a triangular competition.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Rowdies Take Aim At Fifth Coastal Cup Title Starting This Saturday )〕 The Strikers retained the trophy in 2015 with one match to spare by virtue of Jacksonville's 2–0 upset victory over the Rowdies on September 26. The league has announced that beginning in the 2016 season a new Miami FC team will join the NASL. This will make the competition a four-team affair.
